Family and Children’s Services of Leeds and Grenville (FCSLG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Allan Hogan as Executive Director effective June 28, 2010.

After conducting an extensive search, the Board of Directors of Family and Children’s Services of Leeds and Grenville (FCSLG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Allan Hogan as Executive Director effective June 28, 2010. He will succeed Robert Pickens, retiring, who has served in this position since November 1994.

Allan is responsible for the day-to-day operations of FCSLG to achieve the goals and further the mission of the organization, to protect the children and strengthen the families of Leeds and Grenville in partnership with the community.

Allan brings to FCSLG more than 25 years experience in the field of child welfare and 12 years at the senior executive level, most recently in his previous post as Executive Director of Family, Youth and Child Services of Muskoka in Bracebridge, Ontario. Allan has been instrumental in developing and implementing innovative community based services and programs in consultation with key stakeholders, and is experienced in working closely with a volunteer Board of Directors and in providing strategic analysis and advice to executive committees.

Allan received his Master of Social Work from the University of Manitoba in 1990 after completing his Bachelor degree in Arts at McMaster University in 1984. Allan also holds a Child Care Worker diploma from Centennial College.

Established in 1894, FCSLG is a mandated child welfare agency servicing the urban and ruralcommunities of Leeds and Grenville. Situated in the southeast region of Ontario alongside the beautiful St. Lawrence River, the Agency employs 85 staff across four community office locations. FCSLG is the parent to 140 children, and provides support and assistance to more than 1000 families in our community each year, with an annual operating budget of $11 million. We are a diverse, professional organization committed to protecting the children and strengthening the families of Leeds and Grenville in partnership with the community.
